I'm Matthew Visgaitis, a UX person.
This is how I create better healthcare experiences.

Healthcare apps should solve problems, not create them.

Software designed around regulatory requirements, medical information, and complex professional training can often become an obstacle to real care. I approach healthcare UX by understanding not just the system requirements, but the true goals and practical use of patients and carers.

I translate complex health data systems into effortless, "don't-make-me-think" clinical interactions.

Managing wellness with smart algorithm UI/UX

Easy inputs for powerful outputs: smart algorithms in wellness UX

While at Martini Media Group, our design team launched two SAAS apps using a central algorithm to inform patients and staff what steps to take next. The challenge was simplifying an abstract, impersonal formula into discrete personal activities through simple steps in the UI/UX.

Method Fitness - SaaS iPad and Web Apps

Method is a proprietary lactate-threshhold athletic performance program that uses heartrate to "stage" exercise routines for maximum training or therapy efficiency.

Method uses wearables coordinating with iPhone and iPad apps to tell athletes when to move between stages of their activity in real time and offers a web back-end UI to plan workouts.

I collaborated on the UI design for the iPad and web apps and fine-tuned Method's interactions through significant testing to bring the "staging" algorithm to life.

ConnectCare : Autism Therapy Tracking Suite

ConnectCare - Website

ConnectCare is a HIPAA-secured patient data entry and smart planning platform for Autism therapy, IDD care, IEP/ISP tracking, and more.

I worked on the design team assembling the administrator tools and unique data-entry "dots" screen and testing usability in real clinical applications.

My role was to become subject-matter expert on the business logic and clinical research rules around automatically advancing clients/patients into specific therapy phases based on therapist's data inputs. My deep-dive into this complex data was mostly to be able to turn it into a usable, ituitive UI - but I ended up becoming a critical resource for ConnectCare and am still retained to consult and provide client demos.
